1. Sign Up

Create a free account to get started. The free tier includes 3 sites, perfect for testing and small projects.

2. Upload Your Site

Click the "Upload file (ZIP or HTML)" button and select your file:

• HTML files: Single HTML files (.html or .htm) are deployed as-is
• ZIP archives: Upload a ZIP file containing your entire website (HTML, CSS, JS, images, etc.)

Your site will be automatically deployed and assigned a unique subdomain (e.g., site-abc123.simplyhost.it).

3. Access Your Site

Once uploaded, your site is immediately live! Click on the site URL in your dashboard to view it, or use the QR code feature to quickly share it on mobile devices.

Updating a Site

To update an existing site, click the upload icon (📤) next to the site in your dashboard and select a new file. The site will be updated with your new content while keeping the same URL.

Naming Your Sites

You can give your sites custom names for easier organization. Click on the "Name" column in your sites table to edit the name inline. Names are optional and are only for your reference.

Organizing with Tabs

Keep your sites organized by creating custom tabs:

• Click the "+" button next to the default tabs to create a new tab
• Use the "..." menu on any site and select "Move to tab" to organize sites
• Delete custom tabs anytime - sites will be moved back to "All"

Searching Sites

Use the search bar at the top of your dashboard to quickly find sites by name, subdomain, or URL. The search filters results in real-time as you type.

Password Protection

Protect your sites with a password to restrict access:

1. Click the "..." menu on any site
2. Select "Lock Website"
3. Enter and confirm a password (minimum 4 characters)
4. Visitors will be prompted for this password before accessing your site

To remove password protection, open the lock menu again and click "Remove Password".

QR Code Sharing

Generate a QR code for any site by clicking the QR code icon. Perfect for quickly sharing your site on mobile devices or in print materials.

HTML Files

Single HTML files should be complete, self-contained pages. If your HTML references external CSS or JavaScript files, use a ZIP archive instead.

ZIP Archives

ZIP files should contain your entire website structure:

• Include an index.html file as the main entry point
• Place CSS files, JavaScript files, images, and other assets in appropriate folders
• Use relative paths in your HTML (e.g., ./css/style.css)
• Keep file and folder names lowercase and avoid spaces for best compatibility

Can I use a custom domain?

Custom domain support is coming soon! For now, all sites are deployed on subdomains of simplyhost.it.

What file size limits apply?

There are no strict file size limits, but we recommend keeping individual files under 50MB for optimal performance. ZIP archives should generally be under 100MB.

Can I host dynamic content?

SimplyHost is designed for static websites (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Server-side languages like PHP, Python, or Node.js are not supported. However, you can use client-side JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, or vanilla JS.

How do I delete a site?

Site deletion is currently available through the API. Contact support if you need to delete a site, or this feature will be added to the dashboard soon.

Is my data secure?

Yes! SimplyHost is based in Denmark and complies with GDPR regulations. Your data is stored securely in Europe, and we never share your information with third parties. You can also password-protect individual sites for additional security.
